Serenity
Serenity is one of the things we are lacking in this busy world. This site got me back this feeling. A quick reminder : Stop and smell the roses.

Loving the View
We had a wonderful day going around Halden. We stopped by a residential area and what a view of Iddefjord! I do not know what is it about the sea. It makes you stop, stay for awhile and breathe in he sea breeze.
Almost all the cabin owners came today to clean up the beach area. Honestly, I am not as enthusiastic as I was before to meet them. A lot of the old owners sold their cabins or someone else inherited them. The new owners, it seems to me, are not as warm. Maybe, it's just me.
It is our last night at the cabin. How time flies. 5 days just flew. I do not know when we are coming back but I think it is better to stay at the cabin during winter because then, I would not hear grass cutters or any machines. I have enough noise at home,

Reminded of Kampen
My husband used to live at Kampen in Oslo. When we were driving through this particular street, I was reminded about Kampen, it is like a miniature charming city in the middle of Oslo where parking is impossible. Anyway, when you walk through this road, your mind would wander away about how life was in the old days, or maybe, it's just me?

Another Look At Halden
I always liked Halden. It is a little town by the border to Sweden. It is the home to the historical Fredriksten fortress. If you look around Halden, you will find well preserved buildings from the early 1800. The nature in this town is wonderful. Iddefjord, which is between Sweden and Norway, is historical as well as beautiful. I bave also heard about Halden Canal, which I hope we would be able to use one day with a boat. Well, it is not a bad place to be... in case we move here in the future.

Hunting Season is On
I woke up this morning and heard five gun shots. It is hunting season, after all. Every year, we buy moose meat. The first time I ate moose, I did not like the funny taste. Later on, I learned how to appreciate the taste and I actually like moose a lot. It does not have fats like bred animals. Oh, I also have learned to cook them too.

The Colors of Fall
One of the first questions I got from my father-in-law when he was alive was : Isn't it boring to live in the Philippines when there is only 2 seasons? I understand what he is getting at. Fall is not my favorite time of the year. It rains a lot, windy and it is a BIG reminder that winter is coming. I must admit though, that the colors of the fall is fantastic.
I got this picture on the way to the cabin.

Wish Upon A Star
Everyday, I see a lot of people take vacations somewhere in the world. I am starting to get tired of just going to work and staying home. I did not have any vacation this year.(The weekend in Dublin is not considered as vacation.) We were planning to at least go to Denmark to visit some family this year but we paid so much back taxes this year that we decided to skip the vacation. Not that I am complaining, we were able to accomplish a lot of things this summer. I just wish that we could go out of Norway. Anywhere. My husband told me told me, "Sweden???" Well, at least he still has his sense of humor. My wishing star will probably appear one of these days, then I would get my wish.
For now, I will settle for a week at the cabin in Skjeberg.
